Richard Nixon County Park

Nestled in Springfield Township, Richard Nixon Park spans 213 acres of diverse habitats, including meadows, woodlands, and aquatic environments that support a rich variety of plant and animal life. The park, donated by the Bob Hoffman family in 1968, was named in honor of the newly elected President Richard M. Nixon.

At the heart of the park is a 14,000-square-foot Nature Center, which originally opened to the public in 1980 after its construction in 1978. This center showcases Pennsylvania's natural history with engaging exhibits, including displays of Pennsylvania amphibians, local insects, live reptiles, and birds and mammals native to the state, as well as a children's touch room.

In 1992, an addition was added to the Nature Center to accommodate an extensive collection of specimens donated by William Koller. This expanded section features captivating exhibits such as an Arctic display, an African savannah, and a representation of the Northwest Territories of the United States.
