Director of Sales

The Director of Sales promotes York County as the premier sports, meeting, and motor coach destination.  This position manages and develops the Group Tour Sales Manager and the Convention Sales and Service Manager in addition to leading Explore York’s and Sport York’s Sports market.  Responsibilities include identifying opportunities to increase visitation to York County through bidding on and hosting events, attendance at tradeshows, and nurturing relationships with event organizers to secure their selection of York County.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience in sales or related field. 
  • Two to five years experience in sales, preferably hospitality industry experience. 
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Ability to travel extensively both by air and personal vehicle.
  • Ability to stand long hours at trade shows and presentations.
  • Maintain professional appearance and dress during all work hours.
  • Ability to use office computer and software.
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts and implement strategy to obtain objectives.
  • Personal traits – self-motivated, sense of urgency, personable, well organized.
