Native Lands County Park
Native Lands Park is a 187-acre property, with 160.5 acres dedicated as parkland. At the heart of the park is the Native Lands Heritage Trail, a 6-foot-wide mowed path that runs north to south, connecting visitors to the park via three different trailheads.
This trail also plays a dual role, as it serves as the new route for a section of the Mason-Dixon Trail, which was relocated from Long Level Road onto the county’s property. The Mason-Dixon Trail now follows the Native Lands Heritage Trail, stretching from Bank Hill Road to Klines Run Park.

Zimmerman Center for Heritage
The Zimmerman Center for Heritage serves as a key gateway to Native Lands Park, providing both historical context and direct access to the park's rich natural and cultural heritage. As the headquarters for the Susquehanna National Heritage Area, the Zimmerman Center offers visitors an in-depth look at the region's Native American history, colonial settlement, and the Susquehanna River’s ecological significance. From the Center, visitors can follow the Native Lands Heritage Trail, which traverses the park’s 160.5 acres of meadows and woodlands, linking them to the area’s preserved landscapes.
In addition to offering interpretive exhibits, the Zimmerman Center acts as the southern trailhead for the Native Lands Heritage Trail. This makes it an ideal starting point for exploring both Native Lands Park and the Mason-Dixon Trail, which runs through the park. You can also explore the Susquehanna River aboard the Chief Uncas, a beautifully restored boat originally made for Adolphus Busch in 1912. The close connection between the Center and the park enhances the visitor experience, blending historical exploration with outdoor recreation in a seamless way.
