York County
Wineries to Visit: Lavender Acres Winery, Painted Fox Winery, and Balla Cloiche Vineyards
Start your day off at Lavender Acres Winery. Set inside a gorgeous historic home with acres of beautiful land,, you won't want to skip this scenic gem.
While on the Eastern side of the county, stop in at Flinchbaugh's Orchard and Farm Market or White Clover Family Farm for fresh produce, baked goods, farm fun, and much more. Each of them bring a familiar and exciting vibe to every season. You can feed the goats at White Clover, and get lost in the corn maze at Flinchbaugh's!
Head down to Painted Fox Winery for a private tasting experience. Book a time for you and up to 12 others for an intimate sampling of robust reds and whites, which usually includes a tour of the vineyard. If available, you even have the opportunity to meet the owners.
On the way to your next destination, make a pitstop at the Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village for a trip back in time to the early 20th century. Explore their General Store, stocked as it would have been 100 years ago, tour their grain elevator, and take a quick ride on the train to tour the scenic valley. Each of them have fun themed tours that run throughout the weekend, so choose whatever fits your interests best!
Balla Cloiche Vineyards takes its name from the Gaelic “stone wall,” which you can find in abundance on their working farm. Learn about how this family took a leap of faith buying this vineyard and sample the sweet success they’ve had over the years. You'll immediately be met with the homey, backyard feeling of this welcoming winery.
Riverlands Region
Wineries to Visit: Nissley Vineyards & Winery Estate
The Susquehanna River creates the eastern boundary of York County and provides ample opportunities for recreation and reflection.
Nissley Vineyards & Winery Estate is just across the river in Lancaster County and boasts 30 acres of carefully tended vines. They also hold plenty of special events, like their Music in the Vineyards concert series or runs through the vineyard. While you’re in Lancaster, stop by the National Watch & Clock Museum to learn about the fascinating history of timepieces and mankind’s desire to master the measure of time. Cross back into York County and grab an amazing meal right along the river at John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville.
