Holiday spirit comes alive in York County, PA

Turkey Hill Experience
See how Turkey Hill ice cream is made, sit in a milk truck, milk mechanical cows, and learn about the people and culture of Turkey Hill Dairy. Create your own virtual ice cream flavor, ice cream package, and a commercial. Then visit the Turkey Hill Taste Lab and bring your virtual ice cream creation to life as you make your OWN pint of ice cream! You can’t skip a visit during the holiday season, when they have beautiful trees and decorations throughout. Christmas Tree Hill – In the Mansion
Located in a mansion that dates back to the post-Revolutionary War period, Christmas Tree Hill has enchanted the timeless beauty of this magnificent estate.  Each of the rooms features a different theme for the many decorating styles of today, making shopping there a truly memorable experience. For more than 30 years, Christmas Tree Hill has delivered the newest, most exciting and unique showcase of fine gifts, candles, collectibles, and home accessories found anywhere.

Stauffer’s Factory Outlet
Stop by Stauffer’s Factory Outlet store. Shop in their large store which is handicapped accessible and easily accommodates bus groups. Known worldwide for their animal crackers and cookies, Stauffer’s Outlet offers a variety of other cookies, candies, and salty treats. Stock up on some your Stauffer’s holiday favorites, including their famous chocolate star cookies.

Central Market House – Boutique Shopping on Beaver Street / Market Lunch Stop (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
Standing at the corner of North Beaver and West Philadelphia Streets for 125+ years, Central Market is a reminder of York’s storied history and the anchor of the revitalization of Downtown York. Market shoppers enjoy the finest in locally grown flowers and produce, baked goods, fresh seafood, meats, deli products and many specialty items. Appell Center for the Performing Arts
Without question, the region’s most beautiful historic theatres, The Strand and The Capitol, have been the place for quality entertainment in south central Pennsylvania for generations. Catch holiday favorites “White Christmas” or “Holiday Inn” via your own private screening at the Capitol Theatre. Sing along with the 1927 “Mighty Wurlitzer” as Christmas carols play before your movie.

Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre
The Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, consistently provides top quality productions, award-winning food and exceptional service to over 150,000 guests annually. The theatre seats 376 and is located in the heart of the Amish Country in southcentral Pennsylvania. Holiday Train Ride on Northern Central Railway of York or Stewartstown Railroad Company
Take time to enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills and valleys found within our region of Pennsylvania. This stop on your holiday tour would feature a relaxing train ride with either the Northern Central Railway of York or Stewartstown Railroad Company. Both feature holiday themed programs and can offer a unique experience for your group. Enjoy the spirit of the season and ride along these historic rails.   

The Markets at Hanover (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

Warehime-Myers Mansion
Enjoy more than 40 holiday themed trees that are found throughout this unique location in Hanover, PA. The mansion was built between 1911 and 1913 by architect Herman Miller for Clinton N. Myers, co-owner of Hanover Shoe Co. William Warehime purchased it in 1997 and later donated it to the Hanover Area Historical Society. Very little in the structure has changed over the years and it is in excellent condition. The Society is delighted to be the recipient of Mr. Warehime's generosity and community-mindedness in seeing that this important piece of Hanover history will be preserved.
