Check out Heartwood Nursery and Environmental Preserve to see their many varieties of hollies bloom. As a local, independent niche nursery, Heartwood is home to many locally-propagated native plants.

If you’re in the Dover area, stop by Dottie’s Market for your gardening needs. The greenhouse reflects the changing season, offering annuals, perennials, succulents, seasonal vegetables and herbs, seeds, hanging baskets, and more throughout the spring and summer. Visit neighboring Hive Coffee House & Café for their new spring beverage menu to sip while you shop: White Chocolate Lavender Freeze, Strawberry Coconut Delight, Berry Mojito Iced Tea, or Summer Dreams.
In downtown York City, you’ll find House of Flowers, a unique plant shop with unusual house plants, bouquets, air plants, bonsai, succulents, and more.
White Clover Farm is now open for the season. You’ll find loads of colorful annuals, perennials, planters, and baskets. Their loyal following also clamors for their delicious baked goods, salsa, and candy.

Entertaining Events
Get outside and enjoy the fresh springtime air and stunning tulip blooms at Flinchbaugh’s Orchard this April during Tip Toe Through the Tulip Fields: A Photographic Experience. The colorful tulips await! Make this trip to the farm every April a new tradition!

Go Green in the City returns to Downtown York on Saturday, April 26. This fun, family-friendly festival celebrates green, healthy, and local living, and features more than 60 vendors, live music, food, children’s activities and so much more!
Keep an eye out for seasonal happenings at the Horn Farm Center, including Beekeeper Training, Meet a Mini Forest (Miyawaki Method), Critter Crawl, Early Spring Foraging Walk, Spring Garden Prep, and more.

There is no greater sign of spring than the crack of a baseball bat. The York Revolution players are already hard at work training for the upcoming season. Opening Day at WellSpan Park is Tuesday, April 29; be sure to grab your tickets for another awesome season with the four-time American League champions!

York County History Center’s seasonal sites open Tuesday, April 1. Learn about York County’s many historical contributions with visits to the Colonial Complex, Fire Museum, or Agricultural and Industrial Museum in addition to the year-round award-winning History Center Museum.
Indian Steps Museum opens for the season on Saturday, April 26. This one-of-a-kind destination set along the Susquehanna River showcases local prehistoric Indian artifacts embedded in both the interior and exterior of the building.
