Spring has sprung, despite the unpredictable Pennsylvania weather we've been experiencing. Let us help you spot the signs of spring that are everywhere this time of year.
Glimpses of Green
As the weather gradually turns warmer, we’ll be seeing more and more green peek out from the ground across York County.
Visit Terra Farms and take home a beautiful, hand-picked, all-natural bouquet of locally grown flowers. Time in the famous u-pick field is the perfect experience for a wedding party, a great getaway from the stress of the city, or an easy way to get a breath of fresh country air. The farm also features a popular roadside flower stand where you’ll find an array of just-cut bouquets. Terra Farms is a stunning location for photography sessions.
Witness the emergence of spring colors at a locally-owned garden and plant store. Check out Heartwood Nursery and Environmental Preserve to see their many varieties of hollies bloom. As a local, independent niche nursery, Heartwood is home to locally-propagated native plants.
Miller Plant Farm is another local grower that you can’t miss during the spring. Located in the lush, rolling hills of York County, the farm and garden center has been serving home gardeners and commercial farmers since 1928. They offer flowering potted annuals and pack annuals, vegetable transplants, produce, baskets, containers, holiday gifts, mums, and perennials, and host a variety of special events and classes.
If you are in the Northern York County area, stop by Dottie’s Market for your gardening needs. The greenhouse reflects the changing season, offering annuals, perennials, succulents, seasonal vegetables and herbs, seeds, hanging baskets, beautiful specialty planters, bagged mulch, stone, and potting soil throughout the spring and summer.
