Join us October 26 at 3:30 p.m. to celebrate this milestone with Brewery Tours and hear about their expansion into Lancaster County, PA. Ribbon cutting will take place at Our Town Brewery, 252 N. Prince St. Lancaster, PA.

It was October, just five short years ago on a crisp fall afternoon along the streets of downtown York City when Brewery Tours welcomed its first group of craft beer aficionados and novices to experience beer in a new and exciting way. Led by its founder Glenn J. Smith, he regaled his guests with stories of York’s historic past as they made their way to the first of three independent craft breweries to enjoy guided tastings and a behind-the-scenes tour of the brewhouse.

Since launching its Original Walking Tour of York in 2018, Brewery Tours has steadily expanded its craft beer offerings to include a fleet of Brew Buses that traverse York County’s amazing craft beer scene (home to 32 craft breweries), its quarterly Ales on the Rails event in collaboration with the historic Northern Central Railway of York, and a robust group and charter line.

“Brewery Tours was born from my passion for craft beer,” said Smith, “and a belief that craft beer should be an experience." It was also designed to capitalize on the national ‘Beercation’ trend. "Brewery Tours is a past grant recipient and all-around great tourism partner to Explore York. We're proud to see their growth and expansion into Lancaster County," said Laura Wagner, President of Explore York.

Brewery Tours' educational and entertaining craft beer experiences have become nationally recognized, drawing guests from around the country who have rewarded Brewery Tours with a 5-Star Rating and named it one of the Best of the Best Local Tourist Attractions for three years running.

“Our craft beer experiences coupled with unwavering advocacy for our amazing region has created significant economic impact,” said Smith. “Our guests contribute tourism dollars to area hotels, restaurants, stores, attractions, and, of course, our breweries!”

In celebration of its five-year anniversary, Brewery Tours is thrilled to announce the addition of a Lancaster City walking tour to its craft beer offerings. Guests on this walkabout will visit three Lancaster City craft breweries while enjoying guided tastings of 12 different craft beers with behind-the-scenes access, local & historical anecdotes, and more. All led, of course, by knowledgeable and experienced beer guides!

Smith selected Lancaster County because of its diverse group of brewers, making it a natural choice for their next craft beer experience location. “We’re thrilled to partner with Our Town Brewery, Rural City Beer Co., Isaac’s Craft Kitchen and Brewery, Columbia Kettle Works, and Artifice Ales and Mead on this new experience,” said Smith.

Ticketing is now live for the Lancaster City Walkabout. Experiences begin on November 4, 2023, and run on most Saturdays starting at noon. Groups and charters are also available. Tickets start at $79. Designated driver tickets are available for $20. For more information and to purchase, visit UltimateCraftBeerExperience.com.
