With a dozen stops to explore, you'll need to spend a couple weekends to experience all the great beer found on the Susquehanna Ale Trail. We've broken down the breweries into easy-to-navigate regions to make your trip easy to plan. Central York

Breweries to Visit: Collusion Tap Works, Mudhook Brewing Company, Old Forge Brewing Company, South County Brewing Company, Stony Run Brew House and Wyndridge Farm

It's hard not to be inspired when tasting the craft beer on the Susquehanna Ale Trail. That's why you'll definitely want to check out Stony Run Brew House, where you’ll find authentic tastes and a homebrew and wine supply store right next door so you can start get started on your own adventure.

Once you've had your crash course in craft beer, head to Mudhook Brewing Company, one of the anchor businesses of Downtown York. You'll find a unique selection of eats and brews at this brewpub connected to Central Market House

From there, it’s easy walking to a number of other breweries- Collusion Tap Works and Old Forge Brewing Company are within just a few blocks of each other in our historically edgy Downtown.

Heading south, you'll find the beautiful properties of South County Brewing Company and Wyndridge Farm. South County Brewing Company opened its doors in 2022 and boasts a wide selection of handcrafted beers and a killer kitchen offering salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and more. Wyndridge Farm is nestled in the rolling hills of Dallastown and brews six flagship beers and crafty hard ciders, as well as offering up a delicious upscale-casual menu that pairs perfectly with your drink of choice.

Suggested side stops: You'll find examples of York's creative culture all around the downtown district. Take a walk and check out public art that includes murals that tell the story of York to sculptures like The Tinker and a statue of Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette. They're all great spots to snap a selfie! The Central Market House is also a favorite stop for lunch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Northern York & Hershey/Harrisburg

Breweries to Visit: Big Bottom Brewery and Tröegs Independent Brewing

Grab a drink at Big Bottom Brewery’s bar, made from an old bowling alley! This pizza shop turned hometown brewery has a great story to share and, of course, some great pizza to share too.

Tröegs Independent Brewing is the must stop spot for brewery enthusiasts coming through the York County region. Started by two brothers in 1996, Tröegs Independent Brewing has been making history ever since with inventive flavors, fresh ingredients, and a “why not?” attitude.

While you’re in the area, check out Roundtop Mountain Resort for year-round outdoor fun or stop in at Paulus Mt. Airy Orchards to check out the freshest produce and farm products around.

Hanover

Breweries to Visit: Public House at the Markets

Step inside the Markets at Hanover to check out the Public House at the Markets, with live music, games, and outdoor seating. Grab a bite from their pub menu or shop the smaller food vendors of the Market for an even wider array of delicious cuisine.

Just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road you'll find Hickory Falls Family Entertainment Center, where you can play a round of mini golf, laser tag, or explore their wide selection of arcade games.

Lancaster County

Breweries to Visit: Bube’s Brewery Dining & Entertainment, Swashbuckler Brewing Company, and Rumspringa Brewing Company

Next, take a trip back in time at Bube’s Brewery Dining & Entertainment, which is literally built on the history of Pennsylvania brewing. The old lagering cellar is now one of the coolest dining venues you'll find anywhere - the Catacombs.

Next up is Swashbuckler Brewing Company, where Swashbuckler's Gold, a German-style Kolsch Ale, is the go-to brew and seasonal creations keep the menu fresh.

Finish your craft beer journey by driving to Rumspringa Brewing Company, where you'll enjoy handcrafted beers made with locally grown products.

While you’re here, clear some time in your schedule to take in a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre or indulge your curiosity at the North Museum of Nature and Science.
