Penn-Mar Irish Festival
Annual celebration of Celtic heritage in York County, PA, held on the third Saturday each June.
The Penn-Mar Irish Festival takes place each year on the third Saturday in June at picturesque Pheasant Run Greenhouse and Garden Center in Glen Rock.
This annual celebration of Irish and Celtic heritage features traditional and contemporary Irish music on three stages all day, several local Irish dance groups, cultural talks presented by a few of the musical performers, a variety of curated vendors, free children’s games and activities, and wide selection of delicious food and beverages.
The musical lineup features phenomenal local musicians from Pennsylvania and Maryland, national touring acts, plus special guests from Ireland, Scotland, and Canada. The musical lineup is typically announced in the fall. In the past, the festival has presented many notable names such as Eileen Ivers, Screaming Orphans, Albannach, Ally the Piper, Tartan Terrors, John Whelan, Mairtin de Cogain, Haley Richardson, and several others.
The vendor area consists of quality Irish goods imported from Ireland, clothing, jewelry, pottery, stained glass, books, food items, assorted gifts, shamrock plants, travel agents specializing in travel to Ireland, and much more. The non-profit booth features several organizations promoting Celtic heritage in numerous ways.
Guests can enjoy a varied menu of festival foods ranging from Celtic favorites (Irish stew, fish and chips, bangers and mash, colcannon, and salmon) in addition to sweet and savory crepes, crab cakes, fresh garden salads and wraps, pulled pork and broasted chicken, kettle korn, Welsh cookies, French fries, freshly squeezed lemonade, ice cream, and more. In the adult beverage area, offerings include Five Farms Irish Cream and Bunratty Meade, both imported from Ireland, and a delicious Irish stout and an Irish red ale brewed right here in York County by Aldus Brewing Company.
The Penn-Mar Irish Festival is 100% volunteer-run and draws visitors from throughout the area and surrounding states for a fun-filled day in a beautiful rural outdoor setting. Thanks to a long-time hotel partnership, special room rates are available for several days before and after the festival, and include complimentary festival passes, to encourage guests to extend their stay and explore other York County attractions.
Be sure to follow the festival on social media throughout the year for festival announcements, videos from performers, news of interest to fans of Irish music, and more.
The Penn-Mar Irish Festival is a proud member of the Association of Irish and Celtic Festivals, a network of festivals throughout North America.
