Overview
The HeritageRail Alliance sponsors one or more member-hosted conferences annually, typically in the fall, offering educational programs and networking for attendees. Heritage Rail conferences are held in a variety of interesting cities across the United States and Canada with great professional development and sightseeing activities. This year we are thrilled to announce that it will be hosted by the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society.
We are planning an exciting conference agenda with a visit to the East Broad Top Railroad and Rockhill Trolley Museum as a central activity. We will also visit the Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village where we interpret the role of the railroad in the development and daily life of a rural village at the turn of the 20th century. We will also have an accompanying persons program that will visit local historic sites and museums.
York is readily accessible by Amtrak service at Baltimore and Lancaster and by air at Baltimore-Washington International and Harrisburg International Airports.
Our conference hotel, the Wyndham Garden York (2000 Loucks Rd, York, PA 17408), will provide a spacious room for plenary sessions, plenty of space for vendors in the room where the conference reception and coffee breaks will be held, and four breakout rooms. Conference room rates of $112/single or $124/double occupancy include free parking and a daily breakfast buffet served in a space that will be dedicated to conference attendees.
