Featuring 18 makers from across the county, this two-day celebration offers a chance to go beyond the finished product and meet the people who bring York County's favorite foods, beverages, crafts, and specialty goods to life. Through behind-the-scenes tours, interactive experiences, and opportunities to connect directly with local makers, attendees can explore the stories, skills, and passion behind each business.
Guests will step inside workshops, studios, and production spaces, gaining an inside look at how products are created and the craftsmanship that goes into them. Along the way, they'll have opportunities to meet the makers, ask questions, and learn what inspires their work.
The event also features hands-on activities designed to help visitors experience the maker process for themselves. Whether it's sampling local specialties, trying a new skill, or creating something of their own, participants can engage with York County's maker community in a fun and memorable way.
"York County's makers are a big part of what gives our community its character," said Laura Wagner, President of Explore York. "They create products people love, contribute to our local economy, and help tell the story of our region. Makers Spirit gives visitors a chance to connect with these businesses in a meaningful way while celebrating the creativity and talent found throughout York County."
Participants will also have the chance to win prizes throughout the event as they visit makers and explore different experiences across the county.
The celebration kicks off even before Makers Spirit weekend begins. The first 1,000 fans attending the York Revolution game on Tuesday, June 16, will receive a commemorative Makers Spirit Jersey. Fans who wear their jersey during Makers Spirit weekend and share photos on social media while tagging @ExploreYorkPA will be entered for an additional chance to win prizes.
