Overview
Hanover’s first permanent history museum is located behind the Warehime-Myers Mansion in the former Carriage House. The Society’s Museum Committee developed a series of Hanover-based storylines identifying families, industries, and events and transformed them into a linked saga of more than 250 years of Hanover’s remarkable history. While the exterior of the Carriage House remains unchanged, the former horse, auto, and maintenance bays now house the three galleries of the Museum. The creative staff of the former Markeith’s Design Studio of York, PA, met numerous times with the Museum Committee and created a series of informational panels, exhibits, and interactive displays of compelling history. The Museum is chronologically arranged to provide a self-guided experience for visitors, though a committee member is always available to assist visitors.
