Gifford Pinchot State Park

Take advantage of the beautiful scenery and endless activities at Gifford Pinchot State Park during your next visit to York County. Take a hike through the wooded hillsides and rolling fields present through out this 2,338 acre park. Hike the Mason-Dixon Trail, or find beautiful boulders and striking rock outcrops for the perfect photo-op. Keep an eye out for the giant swallowtail butterfly in the summer- it's the largest butterfly found in the US or Canada!

Two 18-hole disc golf courses are the perfect place to hone your skills, and playground equipment will keep the kids active and entertained. Once you've burned off that extra energy, relax around a campfire with storytelling and marshmallows.

Pinchot Lake offers even more opportunities to relax. You can hang out at the beach and swimming area, or you can try your hand at kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding. Pinchot Lake also offers excellent fishing, with plenty of big bass and bluegills for both experienced and first-time anglers.

You can learn more about the 340 acre lake by hopping on an educational pontoon boat tour, or check out the environmental learning center in the Conewago Day Use Area during the weekends in the summer. With hands-on activities, guided walks, and evening programs, there are plenty of opportunities to foster a greater connection to the world around you no matter the season.

After a full day of play, you can sleep under the stars in one of the many tent camping or RV sites, or rent a yurt or cottage if you're looking for a little more comfort.

However you decide to spend your time at Gifford Pinchot State Park, you’ll make memories here to last a lifetime.
