Alpacas of York
Alpacas of York was started in 2005. From the moment we met our first alpaca, we were hooked! We shear our alpacas every year in May and from the prime fleece we produce wonderful yarns and rovings, which we then knit, crochet, weave, and felt into beautiful accessories such as hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, and more. From the fleece seconds, we make dryer balls, bird nesting balls, and shoe inserts. We also love sharing our alpacas and allowing visitors to interact with them in the pastures and give them treats. During the event, we will have free bags of treats for you to feed to our friendly alpacas. Our farm store will be open so you can see all our handmade goods. We will most likely be skirting and washing fleeces each day and possibly spinning or weaving too.
