Frequently Asked Questions

What is the have it made here event?
For more than 20 years, Explore York hosted the Made In America event over several days each June. In 2022, we rebranded with a new name and still offered great opportunities to go behind-the-scenes and meet the makers of some of your favorite products, from local artisans to nationally recognized companies. This event highlights the diverse range of products, services, and experiences created right here in York County, whether that's our industrial manufacturing, one-of-a-kind artisanal goods, agricultural products, or our role in making history.

Do I need to make reservations?
Reservations are not always required. However, some locations do ask that you call ahead to reserve space. Please carefully review the listings for the locations you wish to visit. Those that require reservations will be noted. Those with no reference to reservations generally take visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that not all locations are open every day.

Is there an admission charge?
There is no overall admission charge for the have it made here event, but a few of the sites do charge nominal fees to help offset operating costs. Unless otherwise noted, the tour or attraction is free.

What should I wear?
Layers and comfortable shoes are recommended, but avoid sandals, flip-flops and high heels because safety regulations at some locations forbid them. Locations that require closed-toe shoes will note that in their individual listing.

Is this event suitable for children?
Curious minds of all ages are welcome to experience the have it made here event! Some locations may have age restrictions based on safety regulations, but most participating businesses are open to guests of all ages. Please check their individual listings for specific details on age requirements or restrictions.
