The William Penn Fine Arts Academy presents the Tony Award winning musical THE DROWSY CHAPERONE at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts. Follow the imagination of a quirky New Yorker as he tries to lure himself out of the “blues” by listening to his favorite recording of the Jazz-age musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. As the needle hits his record the musical comes to life around him as a host of zaney characters emerge from his walls to present their show. You will be carried on a journey that brings together all the best of classical broadway comedy with an irreverent parody of the decadence of the Gatsby era. Hailed as “the darling” of Broadway in 2006, The Drowsy Chaperone is certain to charm and entertain.
