Open Fire Cooking Demonstration

Location: Colonial Complex


Visit the Colonial Complex on September 26 to see Manager of Public Programs, Christine Cooper, demonstrate preparation and cooking techniques using the tools of the period. Visitors will be able to observe, ask questions, take home recipes, and visit the Tavern kitchen garden. Christine will also talk about common ingredients and where they came from. Drop in anytime from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. while a Cheshire Pork Pie, Mashed Turnips, Fried Cardoon, and White Pot will be prepared. This event will be outdoors and visitors should dress for the weather. We also ask visitors to bring masks and practice social distancing.
