Overview

Take a relaxing trip in the Deer Valley and cross over the historic Iron Bridge. This span is one of the earliest bridges in the United States constructed almost entirely of wrought iron that still exists. It was built in 1870, and bought used by Stewartstown Railroad and installed over Valley Rd in 1885. In the 1920's the truss panels were replaced by a steel deck girder span to make the bridge safer. However the Patented Keystone Bridge Company octagonal wrought iron columns and other truss components are still on site.
