Call For Donations:  In order to prepare for the Friends Book Blast, the Friends are accepting books, DVDs, CDs, cassettes and jigsaw puzzles (only complete puzzles please!). Items may be dropped off at the Agricultural & Industrial Museum during normal hours of operation (Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.). The Agricultural & Industrial Museum is located at 217 West Princess Street. The last day for donations is August 31, 2022.

They do not accept encyclopedias, magazines, Readers Digest books, textbooks, manuals, and incomplete volumes.

The Book Blast will be held in the fall. 

For the benefit of the bibliophile or beach reader, dedicated volunteers will sort the books into categories such as antiques, art, modern fiction, classic literature, cookbooks, biography, and history. Prices will be $2 for a hard cover and $1 for a paperback. For movie buffs, and music lovers, DVDs will be priced at $2, CDs and cassettes will be $1. Jigsaw puzzles will be priced at $1.

York County History Center members will receive the first opportunity to purchase books on Thursday, September 29, beginning at 4 p.m. All York County History Center members will receive an invitation to attend this special sale. Friday, September 30, the doors open to the public 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and the sale ends with the ever-popular Buck-a-Bag on Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Buck-a-Bag is just that: for just $1, attendees can fill their grocery bags or our provided plastic bags with the general category books.
