We're getting ready to say farewell to 2019 and celebrate 2020 in York County.
If you’ve never been to the Central Pennsylvania region during New Year’s Eve, you are missing out! In York County, you’ll find towns taking on their own spin of the ball drop with white roses, pickles, Pac-Man, cigars, and shoes at the stroke of midnight. There are even plenty of options for the kids to celebrate before their bedtime.
We gathered together seven unique ways to greet 2020 in York County and make sure the last day of 2019 is one to remember.
Watch the White Rose drop in Historically Edgy York
Gather with friends and family for New Year's Eve on Continental Square and cheer as the White Rose drops at midnight. Fireworks will light up the sky afterward.
Complimentary noisemakers and hats will be provided as long as supplies allow.
Have the countdown early for the kids
There's no need to keep the kids up late to celebrate the New Year.
For a kid-friendly option, head over to Voni Grimes Gym (125 East College Avenue) from 5 to 8 p.m. Youngsters will enjoy family-friendly entertainment, including a kids’ dance party, photo backdrops and props, glitter tattoos, face painting, petting zoo, and inflatables.
Ring in 2020 with a pickle
What else would Dillsburg drop on New Year's Eve other than a pickle?
You can see one of Pennsylvania's most distinctive New Year's celebrations during Dillsburg's 27th Annual New Year's Eve Pickle Drop. The event offers activities for all ages culminating with the famous pickle drop at midnight on East Hanover Street.
If you don't want to stay up late with the kiddos, don't worry, Dillsburg has a kid-friendly event as well. Stop by Dillsburg Elementary School from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. for kid-approved activities, including the dropping of the baby pickle at 7 p.m.
Dine on the Farm
Prefer to ring in the new year from the comfort of your home? You can still make it a special night with a delicious gourmet meal at Wyndridge Farm. Enjoy an elegant four-course dinner, prepared by their award-winning Executive Chef, Matthew Siegmund.
The menu will include such mouth-watering fare as lobster bisque, Wyndridge carpaccio, braised pork shank, and a dessert flight, as well as much more. Plus, you can grab some hand-crafted Wyndridge beer to take home.
Do the Time Warp into 2020

Celebrate 20 Years and 2020 at The Bond
Celebrate the new year with the York Young Professionals at The Bond in Downtown York, PA. There will be an open bar, live DJ, hors d’oeuvres, and a champagne toast at midnight. Pull out your best threads for this event, because it is black tie preferred.
