YORK, PA - Emmy-winning journalist Peter Greenberg will feature York County on his nationally broadcast show, "The Travel Detective," this January, giving travelers a taste of the experiences they can enjoy in the Factory Tour Capital of the World®.

Greenberg and his crew taped an 8-minute segment over three days in June. Known as "Like a Local," the segment offers an insider's view of a destination, offering tips for attractions, dining spots and more places a local might direct a traveler.

Featured York County attractions include Harley-Davidson, Motor Vehicle Operations; Sunrise Soap Company; Martin's Snacks; Bluett Bros. Violins; Revonah Pretzel; Naylor Wine Cellars; Central Market; the York County History Center; the York County Heritage Rail Trail; the Susquehanna Riverlands; Highpoint Scenic Vista and Steam Into History.

"The Travel Detective" episode featuring York County is scheduled to premiere at 5:30 p.m. CST on January 20 on WTTW in Chicago. After that, it will roll out to public television stations across the country, including major markets such as Cleveland, Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Viewers can check their local listings for air times.

"This invaluable national exposure will give ready-to-go travelers across the country a taste of what they can experience in York County," said Louise Heine, Destination Marketing Director for the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Our factory tours, beautiful landscapes and rich history give York County a compelling story to tell, and having a gifted journalist like Peter Greenberg deliver that story to a national audience will give our destination a burst of momentum in the new year."

About 766,000 people see each episode of "The Travel Detective," and each show is projected to air at least three times, driving potential viewership to as high as 2.3 million people. An annual survey also found that viewers of public television are also more likely to travel - and spend more on their travels - than the average U.S. population.

Greenberg also hosted his nationally syndicated radio show from York County during his visit. The trip was supported by a York County Tourism Grant. The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted the journalist and his crew. Heritage Hills Golf Resort & Conference Center provided lodging.

Fittingly known as the Travel Detective, Greenberg is one of America's most recognized travel news journalists. He serves as Travel Editor for CBS News, and his work has earned him multiple Emmys. For more information about Peter Greenberg and his work, please visit www.PeterGreenberg.com.
