YORK, PA-The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sport York welcome the top eight Division III baseball teams from around the region this week as their prospective paths to the 2015 championship event converge at Santander Stadium for the NCAA Division III Baseball Mid-Atlantic Regional.

The tournament May 13-17 will determine who moves on to play in the Division III Baseball Championship.

The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) is hosting this year's regional tournament in a partnership with the York Revolution and the York County CVB's Sport York.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional marks the first time Santander Stadium, home of the York Revolution, will host a regional NCAA tournament. The stadium has hosted collegiate baseball events previously - including the MAC Commonwealth Conference tournament, which was most recently held April 30-May 2.

"Having hosted the Commonwealth Conference baseball tournament at Santander Stadium last year, and our swimming championship at nearby Graham Aquatic Center, York is a great location to experience championships for both teams and fans," MAC Executive Director Ken Andrews said when announcing this year's Mid-Atlantic Regional host venue.

Both Santander Stadium and the Graham Aquatic Center have been identified as facilities with potential to grow Sport York's impact on York County tourism based on the results of a sports facilities audit update commissioned by the York County CVB to assess strengths and opportunities in our market.

"Sports facilities such as Santander Stadium and the Graham Aquatic Center, which have both opened since the beginning of 2007, have solidified York County's position as Pennsylvania's Premier Sports Destination, complementing the Utz Arena at the York Expo Center and numerous other venues," said Anne Druck, President of the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau. "For a wide variety of sports, tournament organizers will assuredly find the right fit for their events in York County, PA."

The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau's Sport York initiative is designed to recruit events and maximize economic impact in York County. Sport York positions York County as Pennsylvania's Premier Sports Destination, highlighting the area's dynamic facilities and central location on the East Coast.
