YORK, PA - The Keystone State Games, Pennsylvania's largest amateur athletic festival, will have an even larger economic footprint in York County this summer as it brings the 2016 Keystone Lacrosse Championship to Cousler Park in Manchester Township from July 30-31.

This marks year two of three that York County will host the Keystone State Games, presented by York College of Pennsylvania. Though the vast majority of last year's events were held in York County, the lacrosse tournament was held separately in State College.

The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau anticipates the Keystone Lacrosse Championship will bring an additional 700 athletes to town this summer. In addition, 2016 is a qualifying year for athletes competing in the Pennsylvania Senior Games. In total, this year's Keystone State Games will generate almost $10 million in economic impact for York County.

"York County has really hit its stride when it comes to attracting premier athletic competitions such as the Keystone State Games, and bringing the 2016 Keystone Lacrosse Championship to town this summer only adds to the momentum," said Anne Druck, President of the York County CVB. "We thank Manchester Township officials for stepping up to the plate to host this year's tournament, and we're excited to welcome hundreds more athletes and their families to York County this summer."

With several fields that can be used for soccer, baseball and lacrosse, the 106-acre Cousler Park is just one of the many sporting venues that makes York County attractive to tournament organizers.

Up to 48 boys teams from all corners of Pennsylvania will compete in the 2016 Keystone Lacrosse Championships tournament, with 16 teams each in Youth, Junior and Scholastic age divisions. The Youth Division will cover Grades 5-6, the Junior Division Grades 7-8 and the Scholastic Division Grades 9-11.

Each division will host round-robin pool play, with qualifying and medal rounds to follow.
