YORK, PA - Visitors are invited to go behind the barrels, speak with winemakers and sample new vintages during the ninth annual Wine Just Off The Vine signature event, which will run noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sunday, November 11-12 and 18-19.

It's one of two signature events that make the 16-stop Mason-Dixon Wine Trail the Mid-Atlantic's Premier Year-Round Wine Destination. Stretching across south-central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland, the trail takes wine lovers on a tasting adventure across some of the most beautiful spaces along the East Coast.

With each pour, guests will celebrate the fruits of the fall harvest. They might even have the opportunity to taste a refreshing nouveau wine - a young wine that is truly just off the vine - and compare it to others that have been aged.

Participants will receive a unique tasting experience at each location, as well as light food items, a 10-percent discount on wine purchases and a souvenir wine glass.

There's no need to be an expert to attend, either. Not only is this event great for experienced palates, but those new to the joys of wine will also learn about the complex process grapes go through to become that dry and crisp Riesling or elegant Cabernet Franc.

"Wine Just Off The Vine is a great way to embrace the fall season, explore the area and learn about the intricacies of winemaking," said Louise Heine, Destination Marketing Director for the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, which promotes and manages the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail. "This is one of the top tasting events in the area and, like a fine wine, it's only getting better with age. This year's lineup features many of the stops that wine enthusiasts have come to know and love, as well as two wineries participating in Wine Just Off The Vine for the first time."

After opening in 2016, Boyer Cellars of Biglerville brings a variety of traditional wines, ciders and sparkling wines - as well as scenic view of surrounding orchards - to the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail.

The second new location, Cassel Vineyards of Hershey, features a property in the family for more than a century. Five generations have cultivated the land, which now yields a bounty that inspires red, white and specialty wines.
