YORK, PA- The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau this week welcomes back Train Collectors Association members for the first of two York Train Meet events held each year at the York Expo Center.

The three-day toy train show April 23-25 features buying and selling of trains, accessories, clothing, books and videos as well as exhibits by manufacturers. Combined with the group's event in October, approximately 24,000 people visit York County each year for the meets. This week's event will generate about $5.8 million in total economic benefits for the local economy and the October meet will mean an additional $8.1 million.

The York Train Meets are open to TCA members only but individuals who want to go to the show may become members on site if they choose. However, in an effort to promote membership, non-member toy train enthusiasts are invited to register at the door and attend as one-time guests. After that, membership would be required to attend. For members or those attending as one-time guests, admission is $20 at the door for all three days. Spouses and children under the age of 18 are free.

"York County is proud to once again welcome back thousands of friends for another year of the York Train Meets," said Anne Druck, President of the York County CVB. "We are grateful for the members who continue to recognize our destination as an outstanding place to visit and gather with others who share their passion."
