York, PA – March brings an opportunity to toast spring with an exclusive wine-tasting experience on the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail, as the Tour de Tanks signature event returns for its 13th year.
The wine-tasting event features 15 family-owned wineries stretching across York County to Hershey, Gettysburg and Lancaster through Pennsylvania's Dutch Country Roads and South to across the Mason-Dixon Line to Baltimore, Maryland.
The event runs noon to 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, March 3-25. Wine enthusiasts and novices alike will enjoy experiencing the process of taking grapes to glass. Special tours of production areas will be offered at many locations, with other educational presentations found along the way.
Guests may craft their own path across the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail and visit as many wineries as they prefer over all four weekends. Tickets cost $30 and are available at and at all participating locations. Experience special tank and barrel tastings, light food, tours and a 10 percent discount on wine bottle purchases, as well as receive a souvenir Mason-Dixon Wine Trail wine glass.
“Tour de Tanks takes wine enthusiasts beyond the tasting room and leaves them with a deeper understanding of the wine-making process,” said Louise Heine, Destination Marketing Director for the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, which organizes the event. Guests will enjoy a tour and exclusive tastings, some straight from the tanks or barrels.
The York County CVB urges all visitors to enjoy Tour de Tanks safely. Designated drivers receive free admission, presentations and the 10 percent discount on wine purchases. It does not include wine tastings or a souvenir glass. You must be 21 or older.
