SPORT YORK WELCOMES NEW FIELD HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TO YORK COUNTY

The tournament is estimated to bring nearly $1 million in economic impact to the area

YORK, PA – Sport York is excited to welcome the very first Spartan Indoor Invitational Field Hockey Tournament to York College January 12-18.

Thirty-two teams from across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New York, and New Jersey will compete over the course of the week. The tournament will bring more than 900 participants and spectators to York County, including 350 youth athletes. This week-long event will drive nearly $1 million into the local economy.

The Spartan Indoor Invitational is a qualifier for the USA Field Hockey National Indoor Tournament. The National Indoor Tournament is held annually in late February and early March and pulls together standout indoor field hockey club teams and competitors from across the country. Winning teams from the tournament held in York County will have the opportunity to compete on the national stage and be crowned an indoor national champion.
