YORK, PA – More than $840 million worth of street rods, muscle cars, and specialty vehicles from across the East Coast and beyond will pack the grounds of the York Expo Center this June 3-5 for the 48th Annual Street Rod Nationals East.

The show is one of York County’s most anticipated events every year. In addition to thousands of incredible cars, the Explore York staff anticipates that more than 13,000 people will pour into York for the Street Rod Nationals East, filling hotels and enjoying meals at their favorite local restaurants. It’s estimated that the show will drive more than $11 million in economic benefits into the York County economy.

More than 3,000 vehicles of all makes and models will be on public display as shiny chrome, beautiful paint jobs, and powerful engines take center stage once again. It’s a familiar summer sight in York County, which is hosting the National Street Rod Association gathering for the 41st year.

“York County residents and visitors look forward to this event every year,” said Explore York President Laura Gurreri. “There are few places where car enthusiasts can see such an amazing collection of vehicles in one place. Whether this is your first experience with these amazing vehicles, or you come year after year, everyone is guaranteed to see something extraordinary.”

The three-day show takes car enthusiasts on a trip through time. All participating vehicles are at least 30 years old. In addition to street rods, visitors will also be treated to cars and trucks from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Vehicle values will range from $8,000 to $250,000, with an average value of $45,000.

There are plenty of ways to stay entertained from the start of the show to the moment award-winning street rods make their way to the “Circle of Winners” on Sunday. New for this year is a special display of custom vehicles built by some of the top builders in the United States. These vehicles will be on display in Memorial Hall all weekend. This Builders Showcase will be limited to twenty-five vehicles. This new display of vehicles is being sponsored by Classic Auto Mall of Morgantown, PA. Also new this year is the 2022 NSRA “Miss Memory Layne” Pinup Girl contest on Saturday in Memorial Hall.

The annual street rod parade through York begins promptly at noon Friday, June 3. The parade will depart from the Market Street Gates and follow Market Street east through Downtown York, ending at Broad Street. York Mayor Michael Helfrich, State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill, and State Representative Carol Hill-Evans will ride in the parade along with Laura Gurreri, president of Explore York.

This year’s Street Rod Nationals East will again feature a special Pinstripe Jamboree & Charity Auction to benefit Make-A-Wish. Guests may bid on handmade art from pin-striping, airbrushing and hand-lettering artists from around the country, all for a great cause.

Other attractions include a vintage car parts “swap meet,” model car display and contest, peddle car display, and a trade show featuring more than 100 manufacturers and dealers of specialty equipment. Plus, the “Women’s World” returns with arts and crafts from the area’s best artisans.

Participants will also be eligible for more than $54,000 in giveaways. In addition, there’s great food, live entertainment and much more family fun to be had – all in addition to the sea of street rods that makes this a must-see event.

All activities are open to the public. The show runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $40 per family (two adults and three children), $19 13 years and older, and $6 per child 6-12 years old. Children 5 and younger receive free admission. A special discounted $17.00 admission is available for military personnel with proper military identification, NSRA members with their current membership card or anyone 60 years of age and older. One discount admission per person. Tickets are available only at the York Expo Center.
