Explore York is proud to share a diverse slate of sporting and community events coming to York County in the first quarter of 2026. Together, these events will drive overnight stays and visitor activity, providing an important economic lift for local businesses during the winter season.
Winter Sports Take the Spotlight
York County will welcome five volleyball tournaments throughout January, February, and March, drawing youth and club teams from across the region. These multi-day competitions increase hotel occupancy, dining, shopping, and use of local services, delivering direct benefits to businesses throughout the county.
A key highlight of the season is the 2026 MADE Hoops East Winter Circuit Championship (February 21–22) at All Trans Memorial Hall and UPMC Arena. This premier, high-exposure youth basketball event attracts elite teams and top prospects from across the East Coast, boosting visitation while reinforcing York County’s reputation as a destination for major sporting events.
Championships Make a Splash
The Graham Aquatic Center will host the MAC Swimming Championships (February 12–15) and the PSAC Men’s & Women’s Swimming Championships(February 18–21), welcoming collegiate athletes and fans from across the region. Each championship brings multiple days of competition, resulting in overnight stays and extended visitation that support hotels and restaurants.
Figure Skating, Special Olympics & Family Favorites
Figure skating takes center ice with the PA State Figure Skating Championships (Keystone State Games) (February 20–22) and the Adult Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championship (March 6–8), drawing competitors and spectators from across Pennsylvania and surrounding states.
The Special Olympics of Pennsylvania Indoor Winter Games return March 7–8, welcoming athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters for a weekend that celebrates competition, inclusion, and community pride.
Rounding out the quarter, the Celtic Classic Dog Show (March 11–15) transforms the York Expo Center into a hub of activity, generating steady hotel demand and increased foot traffic for nearby restaurants and retailers.
