Burkey brings to the position more than eight years of media experience in York County.
Prior to joining the York County CVB, he worked as the York County reporter for the Central Penn Business Journal for more than three years and before that was a staff writer for the York Daily Record/Sunday News for more than five years.
Burkey's responsibilities for the York County CVB include pitching stories to travel writers and local media, supporting the CVB's sales and marketing efforts through written and other communications, and developing and implementing public relations and social media strategies.

Burkey holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University and is a Central Pennsylvania native.
