During the COVID-19 pandemic, Explore York suspended dues for members while maintaining current member levels. In July 2021, member dues resumed, and Explore York welcomed 21 new members during the fiscal year.

Annual Tourism Industry Event

In January 2022, Explore York hosted the Annual Tourism Industry Event (ATIE), where Explore York members reviewed the past, unveiled the future, and heard from an expert speaker from the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. The 19th annual event was held virtually with 72 members, partners, and friends in attendance. Pictured left, Elizabeth Johnides and the Markets at Hanover received The Makers Spirit Award. Speaker Sarah Benoit of the JB Media Institute taught members about marketing yourself digitally. 

The event is slated to be back in-person in fiscal year 2022-2023.

PRLA Roundtable AR

PA Destination Marketing Organization Roundtable 

In April 2022, Explore York attended the PA Destination Marketing Organization roundtable. The event brought together Destination Marketing Organizations from around the state to discuss membership.

Member Advisory Board

Membership Advisory Committee

Explore York reestablished the Membership Advisory Committee in February 2022. The purpose of the committee is to connect with members in a smaller setting and ask for feedback. This helps ensure a better membership product and investment.

Additional Member Benefits 

Members also received an array of other benefits, including an opportunity to participate in the Brochure Distribution Program. Through the paid program, members can put their brochures in Explore York’s 50 branded brochure racks dispersed throughout the county. Explore York handles all distribution. Members also receive a reduced rate to advertise on two digital billboards, both in busy driving corridors in York County.
