YORK, PA - The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau anticipates five days of exciting collegiate baseball as the 2017 NCAA Division III Baseball Mid-Atlantic Regional returns to York this week.

Eight teams from the Middle Atlantic Conferences will take the field at PeoplesBank Park, home of the York Revolution minor league baseball team, and vie for a spot in the Division III Baseball Championship in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The Rochester Institute of Technology takes on Alvernia to start the action at 10 a.m., Thursday. The double-elimination tournament continues through Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (if necessary).

Gates open for fans at 9 a.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. Sunday. Gates will open at 10 a.m. Monday if a final game is needed to decide the regional winner. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children under 6 receive free admission.

The Middle Atlantic Conferences, the York Revolution and the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau's Sport York program are co-hosting the regional.

More than 600 visitors, including athletes and out-of-town spectators, are expected for the tournament. The York County CVB estimates the event will bring about $550,000 in economic benefits to the community.

York last hosted the regional in 2015, and the York County CVB invites baseball fans across York County the surrounding region to visit PeoplesBank Park to cheer on these collegiate athletes once again.
