The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau Welcomes the Can-Am Police-Fire Games Federation

YORK, PA- The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited to welcome the Can-Am Police-Fire Games Federation Board back to York County! Traveling all the way from Canada, the Federation will be actively engaging with York County CVB staff and stakeholders during the four-day visit.

In between meetings and presentations, the Federation will be taking in the sights of York County, specifically a York Revolution baseball game! On Friday, May 17, the CVB and Federation head to Sovereign Bank Stadium for Emergency Responder Night.

Can-Am Police-Fire Games Federation CEO, Bill Merrylees, will throw out the first pitch during the May 17 game against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Merrylees is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and has served as the Detective Superintendent with the London Police Service in London, Ontario, Canada for more than three decades.

As some members of the Federation Board members work in York, others will travel with CVB staff members and a representative from the York County Sheriff's Office to Washington D.C. from May 12 through the 15 for National Police Week. Started in 1962 by President Kennedy, Police Week was formed to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The purpose of the CVB's presence at Police Week is to promote the York Can-Am Police-Fire Games to the more than 40,000 attendees from departments throughout the United States.

The York County Convention and Visitors Bureau (York County CVB) is the official tourism promotion agency for York County. The mission of the York County CVB is to positively impact economic development in York County though the promotion of all forms of visitation.
