YORK, PA - March brings an opportunity to toast spring with an exclusive wine-tasting experience on the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail®, as the Tour de Tanks signature event returns for its 12th year.

The event features 17 family-owned wineries stretching across southern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. The heart of the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail® runs through York County, one of Pennsylvania's top destinations for handcrafted wine.

The event runs noon to 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, March 4-26. Wine enthusiasts and novices alike will enjoy experiencing the process of taking grapes to glass. Special tours of production areas will be offered at many locations, with other educational presentations found along the way.

Standard admission is $30 and covers all participating wineries over all eight days. Guests will experience special tank and barrel tastings, light food, tours and a 10 percent discount on wine bottle purchases, as well as receive a souvenir Mason-Dixon Wine Trail® wine glass.

"Tour de Tanks takes wine enthusiasts beyond the tasting room and leaves them with a deeper understanding of the wine-making process," said Louise Heine, Destination Marketing Director for the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, which organizes the event. "This is one of the few times of the year you can step behind the scenes and see how wine goes from grape to glass, all from the perspective of the creative winemakers of the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail®."

Guests can choose their own path and visit as many wineries as they'd like over all four weekends.

Tickets are available online at www.MasonDixonWineTrail.com and at all participating locations. When buying online, guests must choose the location at which they'd like to begin, and then pick up their tickets there during the event.
