Explore the Factory Tour Capital of the World During the 15th Annual Made in America Tours Event

YORK, PA- York County, PA's 15th Annual Made in America Tours event, happening June 19-22, invites visitors to take an insider's look at what goes on behind the scenes at more than 25 factory tours and attractions! Travel throughout the Factory Tour Capital of the World and discover firsthand how some of America's favorite products are crafted!

Tempt your taste buds at our snack food factories like Martin's Potato Chips  where you'll have the opportunity to taste unique kettle-cooked potato chips fresh from the fryer or savor the satisfying crunch of a hand-twisted sourdough pretzel at the family-owned Revonah Pretzel bakery. If you prefer sweet treats over salty eats, take the NEW Sweet Willows Creamery tour where owner Brent shows you how he crafts delicious homemade, hand-dipped ice cream and yogurt in flavors like midnight cappuccino crunch and wild Maine blueberry using only premium ingredients.

Touring with children? Take them to Sunrise Soap Company where they can observe owner Chris making everything from soap to lotion, bath bombs and more! Other kid-friendly attractions include the NEW Walk-Le Holsteins Dairy Farm tour where children can pet the cows, feed calves and experience life on a working dairy farm!

In addition to factory tours, the Made in America Tours Event includes artisan tours as well. Get an up-close and personal look at true American craftsmanship during the Bluett Brothers Violin tour where master luthier, Mark Bluett, shows you how he handcrafts a variety of baroque-style stringed instruments like violins and mandolins. He's even made instruments for celebrities like Mark O'Connor from Yo-Yo Ma!

Cross the river to George's Furniture where you can tour the woodshop to see craftsman at work creating beautiful, handcrafted, solid hardwood furniture. Step into the shop to see where the wood is dried then watch as it's cut-out, turned, assembled and stained.  

Additionally, the Made in America Tours event features behind-the-scenes experiences at factories that only open their doors for this event! This is the one opportunity each year to peek inside these sites and experience York County's unique manufacturing heritage. Witness the artistry at York Wallcoverings, the largest and oldest wall coverings manufacturer in North America. During the tour, you will view the historic presses still in use as well as the Design Studio. Step onto the manufacturing floor at Weldon Solutions, which manufactures CNC controlled cylindrical grinding machines and supplies robotic automation systems.

After all that touring, you'll need a jolt of caffeine! Get your caffeine fix at New Grounds Roasting Company in downtown York and experience this NEW tour, which includes a walk-through of the roasting room where the coffee bean roasting process is explained. Additionally, participants can enjoy a roasting demonstration and purchase samples of the freshly-ground coffee upstairs in the café.
