Visiting Artist: Paul Rucker: REWIND Exhibition Dates: August 31–October 21, 2017 York College Galleries Lecture/Reception: August 31, 5:30 p.m. DeMeester Recital Hall, Wolf Hall Paul Rucker is a visual artist, composer, and musician whose work integrates live performance, original compositions, sound, and visual art to address social justice concerns such as the Prison Industrial Complex and its relationship to slavery. REWIND, initially exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art, was named “Best Solo Show 2015” and “#1 Art Show of 2015” by the Baltimore City Paper and Rucker was named “Best Artist 2015” by Baltimore Magazine. Rucker has received several prestigious grants, awards, and residencies. Recently, he was named the first artist-in-residence at the National Museum of African American Culture and 2017 Guggenheim Fellow.
