Taste Test Restaurant Incubator in downtown York, is hosting another short term pop up called Po’s Kitchen from December 8-10 & 15-17 at the Taste Test Cafe & Audition Space in the Royal Square District in Downtown York.
Chef Pharen Nhor was born in Thailand, but came to York, PA when he was a few months old and has stayed here since. After moving between many different restaurants, Nhor decided to move out of the background in the kitchen and is currently enrolled in the Y.T.I’s culinary program where he has honed his skills. He loves all of the math, science, professionalism, and art that goes into being a chef. Through his time at school, Nhor has been able to combine his knowledge of French cuisine with his passion for Cambodian food to bring a unique fusion to York’s palate. At Po’s Kitchen, customers will be able to feel at home when they come to dine on his food. Chef Pharen hopes that you will be able to enjoy your food through your not only your mouth, but your eyes and spirit as well.
Pharen Nhor’s goal is to be one of the best chefs York has had, and this is his first step to achieving that. The York community is invited to attend these concept auditions and then has the opportunity to take an anonymous survey about their experience. This will help the Taste Test team make a final determination for which restaurant concept will next occupy their adjoining 105 S. Duke St. space for a long term pop up. No tickets are required to attend this event.
Taste Test is a restaurant series in which aspiring restaurateurs audition their concepts through a short term pop up to the community for a chance at a long term pop up, which lasts 3 months, in the Taste Test Restaurant & Bar. Through a partnership between the York College hospitality management program and Yorit, the community will have the opportunity to decide which concept they would like to see as a permanent restaurant in Downtown York. Each concept will end with an opportunity for locals to crowdfund for part ownership in each concept.
