Chill out in Downtown York with the coolest weekend getaway you'll find all winter - FestivICE presented by York Traditions Bank.

Featuring ice carving, live music and more, this icy extravaganza runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. January 13 in Downtown York. Here are six reasons to bundle up and "laugh at the cold" during this awesome event.

You'll see incredible ice carving artists

The DiMartino Ice Company turns blocks of ice into beautiful, diamond-like works of art, and you can watch these artists' skilled hands at work during FestivICE. Check out DiMartino's online gallery for a preview of the amazing ice sculptures you'll see.

You can ride a 40-foot ice slide

For real. This is one experience the kids won't want to miss. A wristband, available for $5, is required to ride this icy attraction.

The Appell Center is showing Frozen. For free.

Frozen is the perfect movie for FestivICE, and it's playing for free at The Appell Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown York. Take a (short) break from the frigid fun for this family-friendly flick, showing at noon and 3 p.m. January 13.

You can roast some delicious s'mores

These aren't just a treat for summer. During FestivICE, you can make these ooey-gooey snacks over an open fire. Kits will be available for $6.

Central Market offers the perfect place for lunch

Even in the dead of winter, the Central Market House is full of warmth. And food. With more than 60 stands, you'll find delicious lunch options that fit everyone's taste.

Kids can sit on the Yeti throne

A FestivICE experience wouldn't be complete until someone ascends the Yeti's throne. It's made from ice, so it's gonna be a little cold. Make sure to take a photo!
